What are the ABC's of behavior?
The ABC's are the antecedent, the behavior, and the consequence. This is used to determine the function of your child behavior and the consequences that are maintaining it. Positive reinforcement is an example of a consequence. This simply means that something is added to the environment that increases the likely hood of the child engaging in the behavior again.

“Properly used, positive reinforcement is extremely powerful” -B.F. Skinner
What are the functions of behavior?
There are 4 functions of behavior. Attention, access to tangible, sensory/automatic, and escape.
By finding the function of the behavior, if it is a behavior that is impeding everyday life, falling behind and hindering your child in some way, or hindering your child's ability to learn, we can work together to determine an appropriate replacement behavior that serves the same function.
